That snapshot includes:

1. Where your book belongs in the marketplace

2. The change your protagonist undergoes

3. The flow of the plot

4. The story’s point of view and timeline

That could look like:

1. A character arc that doesn’t have the juice to push a story forward.

2. Contradictions between the type of book you think you're pushing into the market and what's actually on the page.

3. Missing pieces that will create plot holes.

This is the most important part. I’m a full believer in the power of collaboration. After all, you can intellectually understand a problem, but not know how to fix it. What will move the needle forward is someone who gets into the trenches with you. And that is exactly what I’m going to do.
