For every romantasy and dark romance writer lost in the chaos between inspiration and structure.

I see you.

I’m here to help you find clarity in your story, relief in knowing what structure fits your novel, and guidance on how to implement it

Kallista Ann Editing

  • “I keep comparing my unfinished draft to published books and convincing myself I’ll never get there.”

  • “I keep consuming writing advice, courses, and craft books, yet my manuscript still isn’t improving the way I hoped.”

  • “The more I try to make my story fit every writing system out there, the more disconnected I feel from it.”

  • “I keep rewriting the same chapters because I can feel something isn’t working, but I can’t figure out what.”

  • “My story lives so vividly in my head, but the second I try to write it down, it loses its magic.”

  • “I’m tired of being told what’s wrong with my manuscript without anyone helping me figure out how to fix it.”

You need more than feedback. You need someone who can help you apply it. Someone who understands both story craft and the creative process — and can guide you through a structure that fits your story instead of forcing it into someone else’s formula.

Meet your Developmental Editor

Hi, my name is Kallista Ann, and I’m a developmental editor and book coach. My philosophy of editing comes from my belief in collaboration and honesty. The best way to create a story you’re proud of is in an environment with someone who will get to know your story and champion it while challenging you to sharpen it at the same time. I’m not the type of editor who gives you a laundry list of things wrong in an editorial letter and then sends you on your way. My goal is to help you discover how to actually implement those changes.

What would you do if I told you these three things are true:

What’s been holding you back isn’t a lack of feedback; it’s not having someone jump into the trenches with you to solve the problems.

1

You need someone who’s a professional editor and a creative partner, supporter, and guide all in one.

Trying to fit your novel into every structural system out there won’t help you. That doesn’t mean give up on structure; it means finding the best-fit structure for your story.

2

You need someone who can lead you through a well-tested system that fits the type of story you’re trying to tell.

Understanding story theory doesn't automatically translate into skill. If you're struggling, the best next step isn’t more studying; it’s getting professional feedback from someone who will guide you in learning the skills.

3

You need someone who knows how to bridge the gap between knowledge and application.
